The self storage industry was the only branch of real estate rentals that was unfairly taxed with the sales tax law that went into effect in July of 2004.

We, at the ASSA, are still committed eliminating the self-storage industry from the gross receipts law.  A bill eliminating the sales tax on self storage rents will be kept alive and Senator Bobby Glover will present it at the beginning of the 2009 legislative session.

We still ask you to contact your legislators periodically to remind them of their support for this issue.
